Additional Onkyo TX-SR575S 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (Silver) Information

Without sophisticated engineering know-how and design, combining multichannel surround sound with video processing capabilities in A/V receivers presents some formidable challenges, particularly in the mid-level price range. The TX-SR575 balances high-performance audio (for movies and music) with HDMI 1080p pass-thru and component video switching (with upconversion) capability for every video resolution available. With connectivity to XM Radio, the TX-SR575 can give you access to the most varied and exhilarating radio this country has ever seen. Not simply content with giving you multi-dimensional entertainment, the TX-SR575 comes equipped with Audyssey 2EQ room-correction technology that enables you to accurately align sound output with the contours of your home.

What Customers Say About Onkyo TX-SR575S 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (Silver):

I have given up on this receiver and am sending it back. Then I moved the receiver plug into a power strip where none of the components were plugged in; that reduced the speaker hum to an almost inaudible level (which I could have lived with). Unfortunately I was then able to hear a low persistent buzz coming from the receiver itself. I was impressed by the features of this receiver, especially the 3 hdmi inputs, and the ease of setting it up. I'm going to try a Yamaha model - it's more expensive and has only two hdmi inputs but I've had good luck with Yamaha in the past so I'll try it again. After talking with the very helpful support at OneCall (the vendor) I plugged the sub-woofer into a 2 prong adapter (that's right, I eliminated the ground). Still, there was a persistent hum in every speaker. - that eliminated the buzz in the sub-woofer.

I would run it at about 0, which is not loud. now we have the Onkyo TX-SR575S and it totally blows you away. Denon tech support refused to help me with my problem of speakers popping with their receiver.

Denon's only response was that 0 is the max dB volume and to lower the volume below 0. Sure it isn't the top of the line, but it will sure turn your movie experience into a whole new level. So.

I purchased the Onkyo TX-SR575S to replace my 3 year old Denon AVR - 486 system. We had to adjust the volume to almost lip read to avoid the popping. I kept the Denon speakers and we don't have any popping, just superb sound.

Their own manual tells you that the volume range is -70 to 18 dB. We would get constant loud popping which ruined watching TV or DVD's.

Try another brand. Not only did my receiver break two months after I got it, Onkyo wouldn't help me at all.

Does not really matter if you have an upscaling DVD player already I bought this to replace my pioneer receiver, sounds really good for the price, as others mentioned before HDMI is passthrough only, it won't do any upscaling.

And it arrived in just a few days. This product was a great value for the price.
